Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
Canary status: missing — rely on required Forgejo checks before merge
Canary Context Pack
Product story
W6d autonomous merge should not get stuck on stale duplicate Forgejo status rows after all current checks are green.
What changed
The readiness checker now chooses the latest status per context using timestamps, with a same-second tie-break that prefers terminal results over pending. Regression tests cover stale pending plus same-second pending/success duplicates.
Why it changed
The #470 smoke PR is eligible and has an Iskra merge-bot token that dry-runs successfully, but Forgejo returned duplicate canary statuses and the checker treated a stale pending as current.
Files touched
control-plane/platformctl/ci/automerge_readiness.pycontrol-plane/platformctl/tests/test_automerge_readiness.pyRelevant context
W6d autonomous merge pilot; #470 smoke candidate; #471 stdlib-only runner fix.
Runtime evidence
No runtime mutation. Local dry-run using
ISKRA_MERGE-BOT_FORGEJO_PATverified token ownerIskra, PR #470 readability, readiness true, and merge actor dry-run allowed.Known constraints
This does not install the token into the deploy runner environment and does not execute merge.
Explicit out-of-scope
No branch protection changes, no workflow permission expansion, no production restart.
Requested decision
Merge after checks if reviewers agree this is the correct deterministic interpretation of duplicate Forgejo statuses.
Merge blockers
Any regression in automerge readiness tests or evidence that stale failure could be hidden by this ordering rule.
