docs(prompts): .codex/instructions per-module template + example #67

No .codex/ directory exists. Codex runs without structured per-module instructions. Create template + 1 example.

Spec sources

  • prompts/01-freeze.md through 06-prune.md (10 master prompts)
  • modules/forgejo/module.yaml (example for instantiation)
  • PLATFORM_CHARTER.md §6

What done looks like

  • .codex/instructions.md template with Jinja2-style placeholders
  • .codex/examples/forgejo.md example instantiation
  • Template covers: module context, allowed operations, escape hatch

Risk: risk/process

Ready for agent

Execution protocol: state/agent-execution-template.md (PR #69 → main).

Specifics for this issue:

  • Recommended actor: codex (this is for Codex's own per-module workflow; eat-your-own-dogfood) — claude acceptable
  • Spec sources whitelist:
    • prompts/01-freeze.md through prompts/06-prune.md (10 master prompts — verify count via ls prompts/0*.md; if not exactly 10, document in PR)
    • prompts/01.5-schema-v2-adhd-counters.md (special case — recently added)
    • modules/forgejo/module.yaml (use as instantiation example since this is repo's git host)
    • modules/forgejo/runbook.md (if exists)
    • PLATFORM_CHARTER.md §6 (Codex section)
    • AGENTS.md §"Identity-isolation" (template must reference identity discipline)
  • Allowed touched paths:
    • .codex/instructions.md (create — generic Jinja2-style template with {{module_name}}, {{compose_path}}, {{runbook_path}}, {{actor_email}} placeholders)
    • .codex/examples/forgejo.md (create — concrete instantiation showing what filled-in template looks like for forgejo module)
    • .codex/README.md (create — short pointer: "this directory holds per-module Codex instructions; agents working a specific module render the template into a per-module file")
  • Self-verification commands:
    • test -f .codex/instructions.md && wc -l .codex/instructions.md
    • test -f .codex/examples/forgejo.md && wc -l .codex/examples/forgejo.md
    • Sanity-check: render template manually with forgejo values, diff against .codex/examples/forgejo.md — should be substantively identical
  • Template content must cover (per ## What done looks like):
    • Module identity context (name, host, compose path, runbook link)
    • Allowed operations (always within module boundary; never sacred-path)
    • Identity discipline (Codex authors as codex, not pdurlej)
    • Escape hatch (when to STOP and ask operator)
    • Reference back to state/agent-execution-template.md for general PR/branch/disclosure rules

Important: this is meta-work — instructions for Codex when Codex picks up module work. Eventually replaces ad-hoc per-module instructions in master prompts.

PR title format: docs(codex): .codex/instructions template + forgejo exampleCloses #67.
